Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about travel and vaccination
Do you have questions about travel and vaccination? We are happy to answer the most frequently asked questions. If your question is not listed, you can of course always contact us. We hope this information helps you plan a safe and healthy trip. If you have any further questions or would like to make an appointment for travel advice, please let us know.
Does the practice have in-house specialists in travel advice?
Yes, Dr. Hohmann is certified in travel advice, medication and vaccination advice, including yellow fever. So you can rely on expert advice for your trip.
Are the costs reimbursed?
No, in principle travel advice is not reimbursed by basic health insurance. However, some supplementary insurance policies do cover this advice. This means that you may receive a separate bill for the advice given. The same applies to medication and vaccinations. Contact your health insurer for more information about reimbursement.
Conditions for prescribing
Medication and vaccinations are ONLY prescribed after a full travel advice consultation. We would like to emphasise that prescriptions are not issued at the request of, for example, employers or travel agencies. The travel advice process ensures that the prescribed medication and vaccinations are fully tailored to your individual needs and health situation.
