Frequently asked questions about Methadone
Do you have questions about methadone? We are happy to answer the most frequently asked questions. If your question is not listed, you can of course always contact us.
Do you prescribe methadone?
No, we never prescribe methadone, not even at the request of the GGZ (mental health services) or other organisations.
Why is methadone not prescribed?
Methadone falls outside our prescribing practice. Patients who need methadone should obtain it via specialised care providers or addiction care services.
What can I do if I need methadone?
Discuss this with the treating doctor or specialist who is responsible for your care, such as an addiction physician or GGZ (mental health) doctor.
