Our experienced and dedicated doctor’s assistants are there for you every day. They are your first point of contact on the phone and at the front desk.

Nienke Scheewe-van der Zwaan
Nienke has worked with us as a doctor’s assistant for many years. She is customer-focused, a skilled communicator, positive and resilient under pressure. She is a qualified SOH and, besides being our coordinating assistant, is also a trainee practice manager and digital coach.

Doris Delgado
Working as a doctor’s assistant since 2011. Doris is a person of integrity, correct and presentable, and stays calm in stressful situations. She is also a GP support assistant (SOH).

A driven and enthusiastic doctor’s assistant who strengthens our team. In addition to being a doctor’s assistant, Norien is also a GP support assistant (SOH).

Maaike Wijnands
Maaike made the switch from graphic designer to doctor’s assistant through a career-change programme. With her broad life experience and communication skills, she is a real asset to our team.

Miranda brings a positive and energetic attitude and quickly found her place in the practice. She is training to become a doctor’s assistant and shows great motivation and eagerness to learn.

What do our doctor’s assistants do?
More than answering the phone
Our doctor’s assistants do more than schedule your appointment. They are also GP support assistants (SOH, Spreekuurondersteuner Huisartsenzorg): they run their own consultations under the supervision of the GP and carry out many medical procedures.
- Blood pressure measurements, including over 24 hours
- Wound care and removal of stitches
- Ear syringing and injections
- Urine and blood tests (CRP, glucose, Hb)
- Heart tracing (ECG) and 24-hour Holter monitoring
- Cervical smear tests for the national screening programme

At our practice, GPs, doctor’s assistants and practice nurses work closely together. That way you receive care from the person best suited to help you.

Call the practice on weekdays between 8:00 and 17:00, or book an appointment yourself via Uw Zorg Online. For urgent matters outside opening hours, call the out-of-hours GP service (huisartsenpost).
