Frequently asked questions about the no-show fee

Do you have questions about the no-show fee? We are happy to answer the most frequently asked questions. If your question is not listed, you can of course always contact us.

Why does the GP practice charge a no-show fee?

We understand that forgetting an appointment can happen. However, it is becoming increasingly common for patients not to turn up for their appointment. Because time had been reserved for you in the consultation hours of the GP or practice nurse, this time could not be used for other patients. It is a waste of the healthcare provider's time, and other patients who could not get an appointment could have been helped during this time. To address this, we apply what is known as a no-show fee, in line with national guidelines. This allows us to use consultation time more effectively and to help other patients.

How do I let you know that I can't come to an appointment?

Let the doctor's assistant know at least 24 hours in advance (Monday to Friday) if you cannot come to your appointment after all. This way, we can give the free consultation slot to other patients and, if necessary, schedule a new appointment for you straight away. If there is a special reason for missing the appointment, please let the doctor's assistant know.

When do you charge the no-show fee?

We charge the no-show fee if you fail to turn up for an appointment more than 2 times without cancelling 24 hours in advance.

How much is the no-show fee?
  • Regular appointment (15 minutes): €20,00
  • Double appointment: €30,00
  • Special procedures (such as surgery, ECG) and consultations with practice nurses: €50,00

Invoices are sent to the e-mail address we have on file or to your home address, and must be paid at the reception desk.

What if I don't pay the invoice for the no-show fee on time?

Until the invoices have been paid, we will only provide urgent care. If the invoice is not paid within the stated period, it will be increased by €7,50 in administration costs.

Can I claim the no-show fee from my health insurer?

No, these costs cannot be claimed from your health insurer. The no-show fee is a direct cost for the patient.
